J.C.: JESÚS CALLEJA
P: Good evening ladies and gentleman. Welcome once more to the most popular TV programme of the moment, “El Hormiguero”. Today here with us we have one of the best well known adventurers. Please, give a big round of applause to JESUS CALLEJA!
J.C: Hello everybody. Hello Pablo, how are you?
P: I'm fine thanks, and you?
J.C: I am very pleased to be here with you today.
P: Please, take a seat.
J.C: Ok, thanks.
P: Well Jesús, you are one of the bravest climbers and adventurers of Spain. Where does this passion come from?
J.C: Well, as everybody knows, I am from Leon, and I have lived by los Picos de Europa since I was a little boy. I have improved and developed my climbing skills there, and then It became my passion and my job..
P: So, did you learn to climb by yourself? Who taught you?
J.C: It was actually my father who introduced me to this world, but my grandfather was the one who brought my brother Kike and I to walk through the mountains and taught us almost everything I know.
P: Oh, that is so interesting! But that is not an easy life. Have you been able to make a living out of this passion ?
J.C: Well, at the beginning it was hard, and I had to move to the Himalayas to work as a specialist guide in the mountain, in Nepal. I have worked over there for 16 years . I loved the experience.
P: Wow, amazing! And I guess that you have done many dangerous activities along your career. Lets see, have you ever climbed an active volcano?
J.C: Yes, I have. Actually, it was in the Republic of Vanuatu, in the South Pacific Ocean. There was an island that had an active volcano. We climbed it and the extreme challenge for us was to descend into the interior of the crater hanging from ropes. It was absolutely crazy, but we made it.
P: Incredible, have you ever crossed a desert?
J.C : Believe it or not, yes. I did. It was in Oman, a country situated in the Arabic Peninsula and the desert was called Wahabi. When I think of it, I still can feel the extreme heat of the desert. But do you know what I haven't done yet?
P: No. Tell me.
J.C: I have never scuba dived in the ocean. I have already started my lessons with my friends. This is a new experience for me and I am enjoying it a lot.
P: Well, before we welcome Trancas and Barrancas , it is time to see some advertisements. Don't move, stay with Jesus Calleja and I after the break!

ADVERTISEMENTS, YOU HAVE TO MAKE THEM UP/INVENT THEM
P: Welcome back to El Hormiguero, here we are with Jesus Calleja and now we welcome to Trancas y Barrancas! ( Round of applause)
T: Hello everybody. Welcome back! Good evening Pablo and good evening Jesus.
B: Hello, good evening. We are so excited to have you here Jesus because we want to ask you a lot of questions. As you are so adventurous, what do you do when you go on holidays? Where have you been lately?
J.C: I usually go to my home town in Leon to relax there, because my job is exciting enough to be all the time taking “Extreme challenges”. And If you want to know, I have just come back from my village a few days ago.
T: Jesus, I am so jealous, how have you managed to get that fantastic job of yours? It is like being always on holidays and they pay you!!
J: (laughs) well, I got this job because I am a very well prepared person, and I have a lot of experience in this field. If you go to the mountains without experience, it can be fatal.
B: Who have you chosen to go with you in your trips in this season? Why? Do Trancas and I have any possibilities?
J: Well, I have already chosen my team, but if I need more people I will call you for sure. I have chosen the people who works with me taking into account the level of knowledge and experience they had. I also have chosen my brother, who knows as much as I do about the mountains. We are getting ready for our next adventure.
T: I see, I see, “Your brother”... Ok. And last question Jesus, When have you decided to start your next adventure?
J.C: We haven't decided anything yet, but it will be next summer. And I can not say anything else about the project.
P: Well Jesus thank you for being here today with us. We wish you luck with your projects and we hope to have you again soon in our programmes to tell us about your experiences.
J.C: Thanks Pablo, bye Trancas and Barrancas! Bye everyone!
P: I hope you all have enjoyed “el Hormiguero” today, and I hope to see you tomorrow as well. Our special guest will be … Will Smith!!.
